Wedding Part 3: The BIG day!

July 23rd, 2011 will go down in our book as one of the "great ones".  It was such an incredible day, one that I will remember forever. A day I wish I could go back and relive again and again and again. I remember everyone telling us to soak it all in and cherish every moment, and I tried, but it was such a blur! The day came upon us so quickly, and was over just as fast! Originally, after Travis and I got engaged December 9th, 2010, we were planning on a year and a half engagement and a wedding summer 2012. When it became obvious to Travis and I that he was on track to deploy around April this year, a wedding in 2012 would not happen without the groom. So, we pushed it up an entire year and we (I) planned everything in 5 months! It was tricky at times, planning an upstate New York wedding from southern California and I could not have done it without my Mother, sister MK, and cousin Marge. Thank you three for all of your hard work and help.

There are several moments that stick out in my mind, and ones I will never forget. I remember arriving at the church (early, I might add) and wanting so much to start the ceremony so I could finally see Travis. I was so anxious and fidgety and Margaret looked at me and said, "Relax Moe. Don't rush this day." I wish I listened to her a little bit more but I was just so excited. Another significant memory was just after the ceremony when Travis and I ducked around the corner together alone, while the congregation moved outside for the sword arch. We had our own private few minutes as the new Mr. and Mrs. Tufte and they were perfect.

The best moment, and the funniest goes to my dad.  As my father and I got to the end of the aisle he kissed me and started to "give me away" to Travis. We all started to cry because it was such a serious and emotional moment. Just as my father started to head back to his seat, he took a shortcut, and stepped directly on my veil yanking it and the clip right out of my hair. I was in shock and absolutely stunned and I just stood there speechless for a second. Finally I just burst out into tears and laughter at the same time, as did everyone else in the church including Father Joe and Travis. It was a funny and special moment that lightened the mood and actually put me at ease for the rest of the ceremony. Not to mention, we got some pretty fun pictures.

The whole day was memorable because we will surrounded by all of the important people in our lives, our family and friends. Thank you to everyone who traveled and spent the long weekend with us. We are so incredibly lucky and blessed to have each and everyone of you in our lives. Your support and love means the world to us, and we couldn't have done all of this without you.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
