Honeymoon Day 1

On the Monday after our wedding Travis and I flew back to San Diego. We had Tuesday to unwind, wash clothes and repack for the Honeymoon. Very early Wednesday morning we were off on a ten day, nine night trip to the Banyan Tree Resort in Mayakoba, Mexico. This place was absolutely amazing on so many levels. The staff was attentive and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They remembered our names and called us Mr and Mrs Tufte on the second day. The grounds were beautiful and lush and never felt crowded, actually the resort seemed so private. That was exactly what we were going for. We wanted a place to unwind and relax that also had activities and day excursions, but at the same time was romantic and peaceful! While I can lay by the pool and beach everyday all day with a book and a drink, Travis would go stir crazy. So we had to compromise. (I guess that is what marriage is all about!) With all of our prerequisites we found this resort, and it did not disappoint.

Upon arrival, and July being the "offseason" we were upgraded to a larger private villa. It was breathtaking and these pictures do not do it justice.

Day One: We check in and unpack, throw on our swimsuits and hop in the pool. Not before finding the bar and cracking open our first Corona light. We shower and change and head up to the lobby to check out the rest of the hotel. After we head back to our villa and order room service for dinner. Then it is off to bed because we are exhausted.
