Since we have been married, Travis and I make it a point to celebrate the holidays just the two of us. We have started traditions like chopping down our tree together, staying in pj's all day and even drinking mimosas. Basically, my dream day. Here are some pictures from our little Christmas celebration.

This year was a very special birthday ball for us. For some reason they decided to hold the event on a Friday night. Travis knew I had a full day of classes, and worked his magic. He got a hold of my advisors name and number and asked him for special permission for me to have the day off. It also probably helps that our Program Director is a retired Army officer and granted his special request. So he treated me to a day of a manicure, pedicure and an up-do for the big event. We had a wonderful evening together. I always look forward to the night every year.
Best part of the evening was dancing "Gangnam Style" with his boss.
Yeah, that happened.

One evening T and I took the kayaks out for a little late night sunset ride. It was one of my favorite summer moments. The River was calm, the sunset stunning, and the moment totally peaceful. It was then we both decided that we should invest in kayaks in the near future. I can't wait for more sunsets on the water.
By the way, my kayak has to be bright orange!

On September 15th two of my good friends from HWS were married in Connecticut. I was worried about how I was going to take time away from school, but I knew I had to make it work. So we booked a flight from upstate NY to Albany where Travis was going to pick me up and we would drive to Fairfield. CT. However, the weather had a different plan. Storms moved in and my flight down was cancelled. So Travis, my hero, made the 7 hour drive up to Potsdam at the last minute. Then we were able to leave early on Saturday to make it JUST in time for the wedding.
The church was absolutely adorable and the ceremony had us all in tears (even the boys). The reception was absolutely breathtaking located at the country club right on the water. Drinks and lots of dancing followed for the rest of the night. Travis even discovered his new favorite drink a dark and stormy! It was an early night for us because we had to be up bright and early to drive and catch my flight back to school in Albany. From there I took my first flight on Cape Air, did I mention I was the only one? It was like a private flight over the Adirondacks on a gorgeous fall day.
It was a perfect little weekend. We celebrated a new marriage, I was able to see my husband, take a little break from school and studying, and enjoy New England.
Congrats to Laura and Chris!

In August I had a two week break from PA school so Travis and I planned a week vacation to the Cape. We found a little place in New Seabury Village that was absolutely perfect. We spent several lazy days on the beach in Mashpee and enjoyed some traveling and exploring other days.
On Wednesday we explored Hyannis Port. We walked around, visited the JFK Museum, lunched outside, and walked down to the ocean. We even took a boat out to the harbor and were able to see the Kennedy Compound from the sea. This has been one of my dreams for a long time. If you don't already know I have a love of the Kennedy family, especially Jackie and JFK. It was a perfect day.
We even got a little visit from one of my oldest friends, Anna Burns! So on Friday the three of us made another day trip to Chatham, MA. One of my favorite places in the world. We walked down Main Street, had lunch at Chatham Cookware and went down to explore the fish pier. It was a perfect day.
