Summer Getaway

In August I had a two week break from PA school so Travis and I planned a week vacation to the Cape. We found a little place in New Seabury Village that was absolutely perfect. We spent several lazy days on the beach in Mashpee and enjoyed some traveling and exploring other days.

On Wednesday we explored Hyannis Port. We walked around, visited the JFK Museum, lunched outside, and walked down to the ocean.  We even took a boat out to the harbor and were able to see the Kennedy Compound from the sea. This has been one of my dreams for a long time. If you don't already know I have a love of the Kennedy family, especially Jackie and JFK. It was a perfect day.

We even got a little visit from one of my oldest friends, Anna Burns! So on Friday the three of us made another day trip to Chatham, MA. One of my favorite places in the world. We walked down Main Street, had lunch at Chatham Cookware and went down to explore the fish pier. It was a perfect day.

4th Annual Hannan Family Reunion

On August 4th we held our 4th Annual Hannan Family Reunion. It started off with a mimosa toast and the passing out of the new t-shirts. (Thanks Julia!) Then the party began. Throughout the day we swam, boated, played the annual wiffle ball game, ate and even enjoyed a few cold beverages. We finished the night off with a camp fire, s'mores, and some scary story telling thanks to Johnny. To make the day complete Mimp made his famous homemade popcorn.

The reason we created this event was to come together as a family, spend time together and do some of our favorite things on the River. Each year there are new members, stories, and memories made. This is one of my favorite days of the year and I am already looking forward to next year!

This year we also had another thing to celebrate, our grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to Mimi and Mimp on 60 years of wedded bliss. You are both an inspiration to our family. We love you both.
