Washington DC

My Memorial Day weekend was going to be in Washington DC at the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) national conference. So of course any chance we have, both Travis and I try and see each other. Then we had also been trying to schedule some time to see his parents and thought this would be a good weekend. So in typical style we tried to squeeze everything we could into a three day weekend. It actually worked out pretty well!

Each day I made time to head to the conference and visit with my classmates and hit some of the lectures that interested me. Then I would meet up with Travis, Doug and Gail for some sightseeing and food. On Saturday night we grabbed some dinner then made our way over to Nationals Park for the baseball game. Who doesn't love drinking a beer, eating peanuts and even indulging in some cotton candy? Not to mention watching some good old baseball. I know, I DO!

Then Sunday we made time to head over and to the White House and National Archives. Then it was time to head over to the 8th and I to check out the Marine Barracks and the Commadant's house. I keep telling Travis he will be the first Logistician Commadant of the Marine Corps. Seriously, I think I would make the perfect first lady. Don't you agree?

I have discovered that while in PA school time is precious and you need to learn how to multitask. I had some time with my classmates, participated in the AAPA conference, saw my in-laws, went sightseeing and even spent some time with my husband!

I chalk up this weekend as a WIN!
